At about eight-thirty am on Sunday morning, the twenty-fifth
of January, those members of StoneHouse Family desiring baptism, gathered
together in front of our Nakuru gathering place, for a road trip to the 'Waters of Life' in Kamwaura, Kenya.
We were only ten minutes into our thirty minute trip, when
one of our cars broke down. There is an unwritten law in Kenya, that if you’re
traveling in more than a two car caravan, one of them must break down along the
way.
But, after a little tinkering, we were up and running and quickly arrived
at our gathering place in Kamwaura.
Our family in Kamwaura, welcomed us with open arms and we all broke
out praising our Father for what was about to happen.
We all headed down to the river. Some were singing, some laughing and some were sharing the excitement with each other. Kamwaura residents were intrigued and some followed us to the river
Karanja, our overseer in Kamwaura, was the first in the water to make sure all was safe.
Then as everyone looked on the first to enter Christ through baptism (Romans 6:3, Galatians 3:27), was our beloved James. He and others, like first century Apollos, confessed that they had only known the baptism of John and desired to have a true Christian baptism. (Acts 18:24, 25)
Following those precious men of God, came all, who from that
day forward, desired to live only as disciple’s of Jesus Christ. Praise God,
the gospel of Jesus Christ is being restored.
