Greetings From America!

Greetings from America… yes America! Cynthia and I are at our daughter’s house in Rose Creek Tennessee hoping to spend time enjoying our friends and family. We had a great trip back to the States and are excited to be with our Rose Creek Village Family. We arrived a little after dark and were greeted at the gate by our wonderful brothers and sisters.
We’ve been so busy that we haven’t had much time to bring our readers up to speed with what’s been happening with StoneHouse. So here’s a few snippets of what’s been going on …

The StoneHouse Guardian’s GuardShack Coffee House

Last Friday night the youth of StoneHouse Fellowship introduced the first of many presentations to be given at the GuardShack Coffee House! Our young adults (The StoneHouse Guardians) have begun a new ministry for the young people of Nakuru.

Everyone attending enjoyed an evening of tea, coffee, mandazies (Kenyan donuts) fine entertainment and great fellowship. It was definitely a fun filled night. .

Patrick and Rachel were great MC’s …

We had wonderful singing artists…

Bread eating contest...

Dancing…

And some exciting drama presentations…

This was an amazing reenactment of the book of Job…

Despite the rain and lack of lights, the kids put on a great night of fun and fellowship.

                                    The First StoneHouse Leadership Meeting
We also had our first monthly leadership planning meeting. This was a gathering of the leaders in the different ministries of StoneHouse Fellowship Church.
It was so awesome to leave our Kenyan brothers in charge of everything as Cynthia and I left for the United States. We know that everything will not only continue, but very likely …increase. The meeting was strong and everyone contributed as we discussed our plans for the future.

There were representatives from the young people…

Representatives from the team teaching the children…

Representatives from each of our seven home groups…

Thomas, James and I covered a multitude of subjects concerning our future growth and some of the new ministries that have begin to emerge out of StoneHouse Fellowship.

We also discussed the new church family and gathering beginning in Engarasha, a small village just outside of Nakuru. StoneHouse Ministries International has been given a 50 x 150 plot of ground to erect a building to hold meetings there. This was donated by a wonderful sister named Margret. She's the older woman behind the woman with the child in her lap.

As we reflected over the last nine months we praised God for how much He has accomplished in such a short time. In less than nine months we went from this…

To this…

And from the whole church meeting on my front porch …

To this…

Thanks be to God our Father who has blessed the work of our hands!
As we said earlier, it’s so good to be with our Rose Creek Village Family for a few months and we are looking forward to celebrating the 'Ingathering' next weekend. We hope to post a pictorial story of the entire festival. Until then, for all those who have supported us and stood with us in prayer, we pray God fill you with His Spirit and give you everything you need to advance His Kingdom.

URGENT!  Please pray for the hurting families of the people killed in Nairobi last week and for a quick resolution to the present hostage situation. Amma and I have eaten and shopped at this mall several times before. Please pray for the protection of missionaries in Kenya and our Kenyan families. This is not a random happening. Things are heating up. Al Shabbab the African Al Qeada continues to target any western people and places they go.

Your Missionaries in Kenya… Dave and Cynthia.

I've been hearing about the Nairobi terrorist war on the radio. We are praying.

I think you had two photos switched. I really loved the representative of the young people with the gray hair and beard!

You have the best photos of any mission blog I've ever read.
